There is a certificate of Authenticity. The certificate verifies that this Hendrick Motorsports, ‘take off’, Chevrolet Monte Carlo body (identified as #2449) was actually used during a race won by Hendrick Motorsports Race Car. The details for this body are below.
- Race Series NASCAR Winston Cup
- Race Sharpie 500 Bristol TN
- Race Date August 24. 2002
- Team #24 Jeff Gordon DuPont Chevrolet
The car has a Hendrick roller bearing engine. There is a certificate that verifies the Hendrick Motorsports engine block (identified as JRH-290) was actually used in a Busch Series race car driven by Ricky Hendrick during 2002 season. This engine was built at Hendrick Motorsports to race specifications using many of the actual Hendrick Motorsports racing parts. There is even a build sheet on the engine with the Comp Cam specs as well.
The car #2449 Beetlejuice was last raced at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2002 where Jeff won that race. This Hendrick Motorsports 2002 Chevrolet DuPont Monte Carlo has been fully restored. The #24 body was then professionally mounted to templates on the super speedway chassis (identified as 2527 Speedy Gonzales). The chassis was ran during the 2001-2002 season by Jerry Nadeau in the #25 UAW - Delphi Chevrolet. The car was retired and moved to Hendrick Motorsports R&D department where it was built as an ARCA car and driven VERY successfully by Kyle Busch sometime during the 03 ARCA season. The cars for 2003 all had to change to a common body style so the 2002 cars were obsolete.
The complete Ignition system came out of Jeff’s car #2450, and has the wiring already for front and rear brake fans. Also included is the raced used matching car cover with a Velcro driver side window flap. The chassis #2527 came with truck arms, rear end housing, U bolts, upper A arm and lower control arms, tie rod ends, center steering link, pitman arm, 17-5:1 steering box. wedge adjusters, all tether ropes, oil tank and mount, oil lines to engine, rear end pump lines and cooler, pan hard bar and adjuster, collapsible steering column and mount, window net and bar, fuel log, power steering pump with reservoir and lines, radiator, radiator reservoir and carbon fiber over-flow can, throttle linkage with boot, gas pedal, headers, oil filter mount, Brembo brake calipers and rotors, chassis dolly/wheels to move the car around the shop, and radiator are from Hendrick Motorsports. The rear end is off the #25 team, #2514 is a road coarse rear end. The seat is a Jimmy Johnson seat #4838 and has the head rest along with seat, head rest covers, leg supports, Willian seat belts, and heat pad for under the driver’s seat. Tires and wheels are from the 24 team as well. The windshield still has the tear-offs from the last race. 2 Carbon fiber brake fans with rear truck arm scoops, not installed.
New (never used) ATL Kevlar fuel cell bladder and can, drive shaft (balanced at 10,000 RPM), transmission (TEX RACING T-101 geared at 2.88-1.85-1.29-1.0), crush panels, Wildwood brake and clutch pedal assembly, wildwood brake bias balance bar and hand control, tilton master cylinders, 12 to 1 steering box (is on the car), fire extinguisher system, and newly rebuilt Penske nitrogen filled shocks with adjusters. Extra set of wheels with 2 extra set of tires. Extra set of 4 Bilstein shocks for hauling car in trailer. 11 gallon, race used, NASCAR gas fill can with male dry break. Extra starter motor. The Detroit locker with 4:22 gears are the only parts that are not from the Hendrick Motorsports stable.
This car comes with letters of authenticity. With over 85 percent of the car being authentic and/or original from Hendrick Motorsports, this car can be either raced or shown. It is complete and turnkey! The body is in great condition for a Bristol race car! The car has always been in garage kept under a cover. It runs great with the engine having no track time and about an hour of total run time.
The car is in great condition for having the race paint still on the body, with rock chips around the fenders. There are 2 pieces of tape on the driver’s side and 1 on the right side of the car where the Setup, Iter, and Run tire pressure requirements are shown. Also added is a Control Tech oil tank heater temperature control with temperature sensor wire (the oil tank has 4-120 volt heaters in the bottom).
